Subject to gossiping or controversy

Today, I will talk about gossip and controversy. If your Yin Fire is too strong, you tend to be talked about by others, and you also enjoy talking about others.

Fire represents flames, an uncontrollable nature. The Five Elements include Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. So, where does Fire reside? Fire resides in the heart. Externally, the heart is connected to the tongue, and internally, it is linked to the small intestine.

What happens when Yin Fire is too strong? It causes one to lose control over their tongue.

The heart is the place that holds love. Love brings understanding, forgiveness, and compassion. When there is love, we always think of others and are always altruistic. The altruistic mind begins with love, radiating warmth and care for others. Because of this care, we naturally take action to help those around us.

The heart’s function is to transport blood to different parts of the body. It sends blood to the kidneys so they can filter out toxins from the cells and to the lungs so they can expel carbon dioxide. The heart continuously pumps blood in and out, circulating without rest—just like a Bodhisattva at the Seventh Stage, also known as Far-Going Stage (Viễn Hành Địa), who ferries beings from the shore of suffering to the shore of liberation. When encountering Bodhisattvas and Buddhas on the liberated shore, they bring them back to this shore to guide sentient beings.

They travel back and forth without pause. That is love; that is care. It is the willingness to carry burdens for others, to sacrifice for the sake of others.

Love is like fire—it cannot be confined to one place. Love arrives unexpectedly and spreads everywhere. When it reaches a person, that person is transformed and, in turn, passes love on to others.

However, when Yin Fire is too strong—meaning the fire in the heart is excessive—love becomes distorted or lacking. On the other hand, when Yang Fire is too abundant, it means one has an overwhelming amount of love.

When we lack love, we seek it. As a result, the words we speak are often aimed at attracting love and attention to ourselves. When we are affected by Yin Fire, we crave recognition from others. So, what kind of topics do we tend to talk about when Yin Fire is strong? Topics that lack depth or wisdom. The stronger the Yin Fire, the more we attract people who also lack love, and we often find ourselves discussing issues related to the absence of love.

Stories that lack love often take the form of gossip. This means we talk about others—criticizing one person, complaining about another. Why do we do this? Because we want to be loved, so we put others down in an attempt to elevate ourselves.

At that moment, we believe we are attracting love, but the people who listen to us are just like us—lacking love themselves. Instead of offering us real love, they simply resonate with our emotions. But resonance does not mean love; it just means they, too, are missing the same thing.

I remember someone once told me about his wife. I said to him, "This is simply because you are lacking love." He had been complaining about how his wife constantly went to church, talked about this and that, and always seemed to be irritated, which in turn made him uncomfortable. I wondered why he kept speaking negatively about her. It turned out that he felt neglected—he lacked his wife's attention and love, so he criticized her.

But those complaints became gossip. The people who listened to him joined in and even encouraged him to divorce her. They didn’t offer him any real advice, because they, too, lacked love and attention in their own lives. This is what is called "like attracts like"—people with the same energy and emotions naturally seek out and reinforce one another.

People who lack love often engage in gossip, criticizing this person or that person. They focus on others’ mistakes, uncover private matters, and enjoy discussing others’ suffering. This happens largely because they are unable to spread love.

In reality, those who do wrong—those who make mistakes, act recklessly, or behave poorly—are often the ones who need love the most. But when we also lack love, we cannot give it to them. That is why gossip arises—it is a symptom of an absence of love.

So how do we cultivate Yang Water?

We must train ourselves to think deeply and speak clearly—expressing everything with warmth and kindness, rather than focusing on others' mistakes or whether they are right or wrong.

Right and wrong are not matters of the heart. The heart speaks in harmony, warmth, gentleness, and love—it does not concern itself with judgment. It is the mind that seeks right and wrong, but the heart does not.

To cultivate a balanced and loving heart, we must shift our focus from judgment to compassion, from criticism to understanding.

Therefore, we should be more generous and warm. There is no need to prove that we are intelligent, knowledgeable, or well-informed. There is no need to argue or debate. Instead, we should express more love and compassion.

Sometimes, it’s okay to admit we are wrong. When listening to the stories of those who are suffering or who have made mistakes, we might even say, “I apologize on their behalf.” By saying this, our heart is instantly nourished with Yang energy.

On the other hand, if we continue to speak negatively about others, the love within our hearts will gradually fade. The more we talk about others' suffering, mock their misfortunes, or engage in gossip, the more our own hearts will lack love.

How to avoid gossip?

If we don’t want to be involved in gossip, we should also avoid spreading it. If we wish to stay away from controversy, our words should always be warm, caring, and free from the need to prove who is right or wrong.

Arguments only make us tense and harsh. That’s why we don’t need to argue—we don’t need to fight over what’s right or wrong. All we need to do is express generosity, joy, harmony, and warmth in our love.

🌿 Wishing you a day filled with happiness, fully aware, and full of love. 💛
